I help to take the pain out of creating well-written, compelling copy. My clients appreciate that I write in their ‘voice’ and they also tell me I’m good at finding the story that will really catch people’s interest – often it isn’t what they originally thought it would be.
Originally specialising in marketing collateral, I have broadened my portfolio to include magazine and ghostwriting/co-authoring projects since going freelance. I do stay true to my marketing roots though by providing PR services to businesses, individuals and charitable/not-for-profit concerns. My stories have been picked up locally, by the BBC and even the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation!
Whatever your writing needs, I have most probably tackled something similar in the not-too-distant past. Recent projects include:
- Marketing and Client Collateral – I offer a quick turnaround for press releases, brochures, case studies, letters and newsletters, and I still relish the opportunity to do some technical writing.
- Social Media Support – I work with people who recognise the value of online marketing but wish to focus on their core business. I book my time to the minute, with no minimum fee, allowing my clients to tap into my expertise in a controlled way.
- Website Content Management and Design – As well as writing the words, my engineering background has left me with an interest in all things technical and I recently redesigned a client’s self-hosted WordPress website and blog. So, if HTML, CSS, PHP and SQL leave you cold, hand it over to me!
I graduated from Kingston University in 1992 with a BEng (Hons) in Electronic Systems Engineering and spent 11 years in telecoms before stepping into a marketing manager role for an environmental consultancy. In 2007, I realised that all I ever wanted to do was to write and I decided to go it alone.
I haven’t looked back!
I have also taken the plunge and started creative writing in my spare time, so I was delighted to have my first poem, a tale of two fat ginger cats, published in an animal poetry anthology.
